Why read Gita
Srimad Bhagavad Gita has the solution to all the problems of life. Merely, achieving material progress and prestige in life is not enough, all these are necessary, but they are not the ultimate goal of life and it is not possible that we get happiness and peace by achieving these. The human body is very unique, every part of it, its functioning system is very amazing.
There is no other such amazing machine in the world and it is also not possible to make it. Forget about making a body, we are not able to make even a single drop of blood, even though we have complete knowledge of its chemical formula. When the body is so amazing. The creator of this must be so amazing. Gita tells that the root of the tree of this world is Lord Shri Krishna. Due to irrigation of roots, the world itself starts becoming green (15.1)
Gita – An Ocean in a Bowl
Srimad Bhagavad Gita is the essence of all the scriptures. Geeta is unique even from the scriptures like Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Mahabharata, Ramayana etc., because it is the voice of the Supreme Lord Shri Krishna, emanating directly from His mouth. There are only 700 verses in Geeta, despite being so short, it contains the essence of all the scriptures.
Gita teaches the art of charity in practice
The real aim of our life is to attain God i.e. to love Lord Krishna. No matter which religion or sect we follow, Gita is extremely beneficial for us because Gita does not discuss about any ritual or method of worship, but Gita teaches the religion of humanity. In Gita, religion means performing one’s duty and love for all living beings. Gita tells us how we can best worship God through our actions (18.46). For this, we do not even need to leave our homes and go to the forest (6.1).
Gita is the trinity of knowledge, action and devotion
The Karmayoga of Geeta is amazing. Karmayoga as described in Geeta is not found in any other scripture in the world. Geeta moves with the whole, the beautiful coordination of knowledge-work-devotion found in Geeta is not found anywhere else. Let us decide to bathe in this triveni of knowledge, action and devotion. Recognize that human life is very rare! Recognize your importance! Take a pledge to study Geeta! Don’t delay it, otherwise it will be too late!!
